our philosophy

Pōhaku is a foundational element in the Hawaiian culture. It’s used for houses, cooking, fishing, and other harvesting. It’s a source of power for the land. For people that move away from the islands, they refer to it as “the rock in the middle of the sea”. It’s a sign of strength and resilience, two things we’d like to instill in every player that we have the blessing to work with.

Our mission is to provide our athletes with a “rock-solid” foundation, through character development, to be successful and resilient in life on and off the volleyball court. We want to develop “rock-solid” female leaders. We also want to develop volleyball players with a “rock-solid” foundation that are able to play on any team and for any coach.

Above all, Pōhaku is where faith comes first.
